How to Turn off Farmville, Events, and Other Annoying Notifications on Facebook
If you're like me, you're sick of Farmville and Castleville invitations, constantly being invited to events by someone who doesn't even live in the same state as you, and otehr annoying notifications.There are two ways to do this: the long, cumbersome way of going through your account settings...or right in the notification bar itself.The next time you receive an unwanted 'ville notification,
- Open up the messages in your notification bar.
- Hover over the top right corner of that individual notification. You'll see an "X" appear and the note "Turn Off..." Click on that X.
- Two additional buttons appear that say "Turn Off" or "Keep On." Click on "Turn off" again. You can also report apps for spam if needed.
This also works for getting notifications for events that you've been invited to but aren't attending.Don't hold the app notifications against your friends...most of the time, it's an automatic part of the app. You can, however, be annoyed at the people who constantly send you irrelevant Facebook event updates though!
